Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What kind of fires do you sell?

A: We sell electric fires with real logs and flame effects. We don't have any gas fires or real log burners. We have a large selection of electric fires on display in our showroom.

Q: What is a media wall?

A: A media wall is a feature wall, usually with a TV and an electric fire underneath it. But there are lots of variations you can create in your own home. We have different roomsets on display to give you ideas and inspiration.

Q: Does an electric fire have to be installed in a chimney?

A: No, our electric fires can be installed on any wall with good fixings and a nearby plug socket. We also have a range designed to be recessed into an exsiting chimney, the Holbury suite.

Q: Can you install a TV above an electric fire?

A: Yes, you can turn on the heat independently of the visuals. The built in 1.5kw heaters blow air out into the room, not directly upwards. So a TV above a fire wouldn't have any negative affects from the heat.

Q: What size TV or fire should I get?

A: We always recommend getting a fire that is wider or the same width as your TV. As a general rule, the fire should cover around one third of the wall. As a guide, these following distances are from your TV to seating. 46 inch TV 1.4m. 55 inch TV 1.68m. 65 inch TV 1.98m. 75 inch TV 2.29m. 85 inch TV 2.59m.

Q: Does an electric fire require any maintenance?

A: They may only require a quick dust every now and again. Electric fires are a low maintenance option compared to traditional fireplaces. They do not require professional servicing or regular cleaning, saving time and money. Unlike log burning fires, there is no need to store or purchase logs, kindle, fuel, or sweep ash.

Q: Do I have to build a media wall for an electric fire?

A: We have a lot of options to choose from, some fires are designed to have a media wall or an imitation chimney built around them. We also have suites that can be installaed in an hour, all you need is a plug socket. These give you a focal point withouth any need for extra work. You don't need to have a TV above it, you can have a mirror or artwork above the fire, and/or have an offset TV to the side.

Q: I only have small room can I still have an electrc fire?

A: Yes, we have inset fires that start at 650mm, we also have some traditional looking stoves that are 400mm wide.

Q: Are electric fires expensive to run?

A: They are very efficient. Depending on the size of fire and based on 34p per kwh, they average 0.7p an hour with all the lights and flames on and 96p for 4 hours of thermostatic heating with all the lights and flames on.

Q: Do you offer a supply and fit service?

A: We have teamed up with Warwickshire Wood Design who have got many years experience installing electric fires as well as making media walls, all of our showroom roomsets and displays were made by them so you can see their work in our showroom.

Q: I have just bought a new build house, should I get an electric fire?

A: Yes, it gives you an easy to install focal point, without the need for installing a real fire or log burner. Most new houses are very well insulated, so you wouldn't need a fire for the heat, however they all have a built in heater and would take the edge off a room. An electric fire gives you the look and feel of a real fire without having to turn any heat on.

Q: I only want to have a fire front facing with one pane of glass, is this possible?

A: Yes, most of our fires have three options; one, two or three sided installation. Depending on whether you want to see in through the sides, or install it on a corner. We have examples of all of these on display in our showroom.

Q: How do you operate your electric fires?

A: They all have switches on the fires themselves, but all of our fires also come with a remote control that can change the fuel bed, flames, downlights and heat output. Some of our fires also come with an app where you can create custom scenes and can even operate the fire from anywhere in the world.

Q: Can I purchase from you online?

A: We only sell in-store. We are one of a limited number of exclusive dealers in the UK providing custom supply and installation services for our products. To fully appreciate our products, visit our showroom for a firsthand experience. Our team is available to offer guidance and inspiration for creating your own fireplace and media walls. It is recommended to have our fires installed by an approved professional. The fires are also very heavy and have glass panels, from our epxerience these don't mix well with deliveries.

Q: I have a lot of questions and need some ideas, can i book an appointment to come and see you?

A: Yes, please fill in our contact form with what you are looking for and we will get back to you as soon as possible to arrange a showroom visit. Customers are always welcome to just pop in and see us, all of our fires are displayed in their own roomsets and customers can take ideas from each to make their own design. If you have got a bit more of an ongiong project it may be best to book a specific appointment as we can get busy in the showroom.
